Water Resources Permitting |
HSI has experience in designing, permitting, and overseeing the construction, operations, and maintenance of several Underground Storage Facilities (USF), including basin recharge, vadose zone recharge wells, direct injection recharge wells, and aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) wells in Arizona and California. |
Many projects, both large and small, need groundwater flow models to demonstrate the availability of water supplies and the impact to land owners of withdrawing water from or recharging water into aquifers. HSI has the technical capability and expertise to create and evaluate groundwater flow models, from simple to complex. |
HSI has extensive experience in rehabilitating and abandoning poorly producing, older and/or poorly constructed wells that are not functioning as they should. Quick fixes of rehabilitating a well by dumping in a slug of acid or chlorine and letting it sit or abandoning a well with any fill material is not adequate for long term success or state agency approval. |
The demand for clean water is often just as important as available supply. In addition to human health concerns, water quality can impact functionality of wells and plumbing and the success of recharge projects. HSI has experienced staff and technical equipment to sample the water, evaluate laboratory analyses, perform geochemical models, and much more. |
HSI has worked with developers, municipalities, water companies, engineers, and government agencies to develop new water supplies and expand existing water supplies to meet the demand of growing communities throughout Arizona and Nevada. |
